ICONS in Transformation Spring Calendar of Events

  • Thursday, April 4-13, Icons in Transformation installation and docent-training. Everyone is welcome to attend docent training on Thursday, April 11, at 6:00 to learn more about the exhibition. 
  • Sunday, April 14, Icons in Transformation Opening Gala with light hors d’oeuvres and beverages at 4pm. The artist, Ludmila Pawlowska will offer opening remarks, alongside our clergy and art historian, Dr. Amy Morris. Immediately following will be a special music and reflections program with our own Diane Owens, Dr. Laura Scow, and Deacon Bryan Peterson.
  • April 19-21, Icons in Transformation Opening Weekend: Friday 5pm to 7pm, Saturday 12pm to 4pm, and Sunday 11:30 to 2:30. Fridays and Saturdays will feature docent-led tours of the exhibition. Sundays will feature art workshops for all ages, starting at noon in the Undercroft.
  • As part of the Icons in Transformation exhibition, the month of May will be filled with opportunities to hear live music and be educated by artists and art historians.
  • Friday, May 10, Tracy Peterson will be performing with the River City Ringers’ A Bit of Bronze, a small-group bell choir, during the exhibition.
  • Saturday, May 11, UNO’s Dr. Amy Morris will deliver a lecture on the history of icons and the Byzantine period, time, tbd.
  • Friday, May 17, Nebraska Brass will perform at the end of operating hours at 7:00 in the Sanctuary.
  • Sunday, May 19, is Pentecost Sunday! Liz and Noah Zetocha will once again be bringing Uncle Earnie’s Barbeque for a picnic lunch on the south lawn with bounce houses, games, the Spectrum Snowballs sno-cone truck, and a chance to meet members of the community as this year we will invite folks from the neighborhood to see the exhibition and spend some time at All Saints. If you would be so kind, please bring your best potluck dessert to share.
  • Sunday, May 26 Trinity Sunday celebrates the consecration of Jane Tan Creti’s stunning icons. There will be a reception in the Narthex immediately following the 10:30 service. Everyone is invited!
  • Sunday June 9 will see the closing of Icons in Transformation with an outdoor party and picnic around the new grandstand with live music and a celebration of the parish! Let’s kick off summer 2024 with a big turnout!
  • *There are a few other events that will be added to the calendar as they are confirmed, i.e., at least one more lecture, and hopefully one more Friday night musical performance. Stay tuned! *
